1. SUSPENSION BRIDGES

I’m sure you’ve already seen photos of these long bridges suspended several meters above an incredible canopy. Many of them are hidden throughout Costa Rica.

So what are you waiting for?

Get up high and don’t let the heights get to you. It’s the perfect activity for getting a better view of a volcanic crater, a rainforest, or even a waterfall.

2. ZIP LINES

Let’s continue with some activities that take on the heights!

Zip lines are everywhere in Costa Rica. Ropes stretching over 500 meters —or even 1 kilometer—are just waiting for you.

Why not zip through a primary forest, soar over a lake, or simply take on a challenge and get your adrenaline pumping?

3. RAFTING

Many people have never gone rafting before.

Costa Rica is the perfect place to try rafting for the first time. There are options for all skill levels here, and everything is very safe.

Let nature splash you and enjoy the rapids as they guide you through lush natural surroundings. This activity promises a time filled with laughter, teamwork, and a bit of exercise, too.

4. VISITING NATIONAL PARKS

Costa Rica is home to 27 national parks, each with its own unique features.

Take the time to explore the ones along your route. With turquoise waters, volcanoes, waterfalls, and beaches, these parks are also home to wildlife that will come right up to you.

To find the park that will enhance your stay, visit our section “Parks and Reserves of Costa Rica, a Pioneer in Ecotourism.”

5. HOT SPRINGS

As we’ve seen, Costa Rica offers a thousand and one outdoor activities.

But after a day of adventure comes the reward. At the end of the day, what could be better than relaxing in the thermal waters of a volcano and simply letting your mind wander while you’re in this natural paradise ?

Vacations are also meant for taking a break and unwinding.

Of course, the list doesn’t end there!
