The origins of our partnership with Costa Rider Campervan:
This collaboration project stemmed from our observation of a growing demand for this type of experience, with more and more potential travelers reaching out to us about the possibility of taking a campervan road trip in Costa Rica.
However, until then, we didn’t really have the in-house expertise to fulfill these requests, due to a lack of knowledge and, above all, a lack of partners who could provide this type of vehicle—which is essential for a campervan road trip…
Nevertheless, we were convinced that this kind of experience would be a good fit for Costa Rica, as it is a safe country with a wealth of destinations, whether on the Pacific Coast, the Caribbean Coast , orinland. Furthermore, this type of trip is typically taken over longer periods, which aligns with our desire to offer our customers a fully immersive experience in the “Land of Green Gold.”
As a result, in early 2023, we began searching for a local partner to assist us with this project. After making a few initial contacts, we were pleasantly surprised to discover that among the potential service providers was a French-owned company with solid experience and genuine expertise: Costa Rider Campervan,which responded enthusiastically to our inquiry and agreed to an initial meeting. So, in April 2023, we met with Florian, the manager of Costa Rider Campervan, to discuss this collaborative project.
We quickly realized that we shared a common vision of travel, with a desire to offer authentic trips — as far off the beaten path as possible —that provide an immersive experience in Costa Rica’s natural landscapes. Above all, our services complement each other, as both of our agencies operate in the market and are now able to offer a new range of itineraries that combine the strengths of both agencies:
- On the one hand, modern 4×4 vehicles, converted into camper vans and fully equipped for an expedition-style road trip.
- On the other hand, a network of high-quality partners and travel agentswho are experts on the country, enabling us to create high-end, tailor-made trips in Costa Rica.
Following this meeting, we were determined to bring this collaborative project to life,with the ultimate goal of offering our clientsinnovative road trip itineraries that provide a perfectly organized journey while still offering great freedom. This led to the creation of sample itineraries, which will then result in our first two joint itinerary proposals with Costa Rider Campervan:

A trip lasting more than two weeks between the Pacific Coast and the volcanoes of the north:
This second suggested itinerary, less comprehensive than the previous one, focuses on Costa Rica’s Pacific coast and the northern part of the country, allowing you to experience a condensed selection of highlights in less than twenty days.
You’ll explore Costa Rica’s mountains, starting with the San Gerardo de Dota region, then head to the southern Pacific coast at Uvita, a beach resort from which you can take day trips to Isla del Caño or Corcovado National Park—two must-see destinations. You’ll then travel north along the coast, passing through many locations with incredible scenery, such as the Parrita Lagoon, the beaches of Santa Teresa and Tambor, and those of Samara. Before continuing on to the Palo Verde Wetlands and its impressive biodiversity, you’ll finish your trip by exploring the Tenorio and Arenal volcanoes—two majestic sites to cap off your stay in style.

Coming Soon: Road Trip Through Guanacaste by Cristo from Terra Caribea
As part of our efforts to expand our partnership with Costa Rider Campervan, we have confirmed that a member of Terra Caribea will be conducting a reconnaissance trip in a campervan, scheduled for this coming November.
This reconnaissance trip will allow us to gain an even deeper understanding of this product and its unique features in orderto improve our road trip packages. It will give our team the opportunity to gather comprehensive feedback on this type of trip, enabling us to provide you with even more advice, as well as to develop a new road trip itinerary, this time dedicated to the Guanacaste region— a true ElDorado for surfers and thrill-seekers, with its countless stunning beaches: a perfect destination for this type of trip.
This new itinerary will be unveiled at the end of 2023 and will focus on outdoor activities, surfing, and exploring the diverse landscapes of Guanacaste.

Costa Rider Campervan was founded in 2014 and is Costa Rica’s first campervan company.
Our goal is to offer our customers complete freedom of movement and allow them to experience the local culture up close. We built our first van in 2013 and spent months exploring every corner of Costa Rica.
During that initial trip, we realized the advantages of this type of travel! For example, we were able to enjoy wonderful sunsets, all alone on the beach, at places like Playa Brazilito or Esterillo Oeste. Above all, we were able to confirm that this type of accommodation is, by no means, dangerous . On the contrary, thanks to the campervan, we spent unforgettable evenings outdoors, like that impromptu barbecue with locals in Uvita, which will remain a cherished memory.
After this first experience, we were convinced that this type of trip would delight many adventurers. Becausea campervan—or an SUV with a rooftop tent—allows you to enjoy a unique experience: sleeping on the country’s most beautiful beaches, cooking your favorite meals right next to national parks, and even sleeping right inside these parks,allwhile freely enjoying the exceptional landscapes that Costa Rica has to offer.
Following that, we began building several different types of campervans to offer for rent, and the success was immediate. Now, after nearly 10 years of experience, we’ve significantly expanded our fleet, and most importantly, we now offerfour types of vehicles to suit everyone’s needs.
All our campervans have been designed to offer a trip that blends comfort and adventure. We’re committed to providing the best equipment—both for the vehicle itself and the interior—which is why all our campervans are fully equipped with an easy-to-set-up rooftop tent, all the necessary kitchen utensils, bed linens, and a water tank large enough for showering and washing dishes.
In addition, we provide our customers with plenty of itineraries and advice. Whether in writing through our traveler’s guide or verbally during the vehicle handover, you’ll have all the information you need to enjoy your trip with peace of mind.
Our team currently consists of five people, of French and Costa Rican origin, and each member will be happy to welcome you and provide you with all the information you need for your trip. Another key feature of these Costa Rica road trip itineraries is that accommodations are optimized for each leg of the journey, alternating between nights in a campervan and nights in hotels. This variety helps preventthe campervan experience from becomingtoo intense by limiting the number of consecutive nights spent in a tent. Most importantly, this allows us to offer you a comprehensive exploration of the country, including the opportunity to visit regions with challenging conditions (particularly related to cold and humidity), which would be ill-suited for nights in a tent. In these cases, you’ll stay in hotels from our selection to diversify your experience by exploring other regions and to provide greater comfort during your trip.

A selection of campervans to suit every need
Another advantage of road trip itineraries in Costa Rica is that they cater to all preferences, with various vehicle types available: from family-sized models to those designed for couples, as well as vans with indoor sleeping accommodations.
-> The family modelis a 4×4 pickup truck thathas been converted to accommodate a double tent on the roof, allowing it to sleep and transport up to 5 people.
-> The model for couples is a Suzuki Jimny 4×4, equipped with a rooftop tent and two seats inside the vehicle.
-> The Xtrem model is a pickup truck equipped with everything you need for off-roading. It can accommodate up to 4 people and will let you tackle Costa Rica’s most technical and challenging trails.
-> The camper van, on the other hand, is the quintessential vehicle for living the “van life,” with all the interior amenities designed for maximum comfort. However, since the vehicle is not off-road capable, you won’t be able to access certain more remote locations.
